Joe is the founder and Director of Nature Awareness and Wilderness Sports Programs and Coyote Trails School of Nature. He has dedicated his life to the teaching, training and mentoring of hundreds if not thousands of students in the arts of tracking, awareness, safe wilderness travel and healthy living. Having taught students of all ages both nationally and internationally, Joe has achieved wide spread recognition for his innate ability to connect individually with every student no matter their age, experience or background. Born in Ohio and schooled through extensive wilderness immersion Joe draws upon his vast and diverse experiential knowledge and professional trainings.

Eirik is a Senior Instructor at Coyote Trails and has taught the arts of tracking, survival and nature awareness through classes, workshops and seminars to thousands of students across the country. Born in California and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Eirik has always held a deep connection to the natural world. He started training early in the martial and yogic arts, and these techniques and experiences have deeply influenced his life from a young age.

Sandy joins the CTSN staff with a long background in teaching and education. She started her journey in high school, living in the back room of the science lab.  The teachers eventually gave in and gave her a key to the whole department.  They let her come on a trip to the Bahamas twice where she saw the reef for the first time and swam with a wild dolphin.  After that she was hooked forever on traveling and experiencing the outdoors in its purest and simplest forms. They kicked her out of HS when she made the mistake of graduating so she moved on to The Ohio State University to major in Elementary Education with a desire to teach middle school science.  In the meantime...
