Instructor

cal09 Largely self taught with no limits, Cal has made archery tackle from local materials and taken deer with stick and stone. He has become an authority teaching many classes on primitive archery where students make their own gear. He has also been involved with the Mid Atlantic Primitive Skills group as instructor in various subjects of earth living skills.

Cal hails from West Virginia where in his rural setting he is immersed in lavish wilderness abundance! A fellow instructor "coined" an expression for Cal during a training exercise requesting instructors to think outside the box. She replied,"Cal... you have no Box". True enough.

Cal's energy, humor and drive for adventure is infectious. He  demonstrates a hunger for "knowing" more earth living skills yet already has a skill set that makes him a resource to anyone seeking an introduction to the Earth in most subject matters.

Cal is currently authoring a book on making bows and has invitations to take his Bow class on the road as his schedule allows.

"I am so proud of my son that he is empowered to live in the wild without fear and the need to bring "things" with him."
