Cook/Nutritionist
The Cook/Nutritionist's immediate supervisor is the Director. In the case of illness or emergency, the Director will be responsible for providing a replacement.
Responsibilities and Duties: The Cook/Nutritionist's position is to facilitate with all meal preparations, order/purchase all necessary food and supplies, and help serve meals on a rotational schedule. He or she assists the staff or volunteers in clean-up, and makes sure all activities are carried out safely and in a sanitary way. He or she also works with the kitchen volunteers, and helps them in their duties. The Cook/Nutritionist will notify the Director of any unsafe facility situation and will also communicate any needed meal changes/times (i.e. if a meal needs to be late, etc).
Qualifications: The Cook/Nutritionist shall have previous food preparation experience, preferably for groups of 40 or more. He or she must pass the exam for Oregon Food Handlers. A current certification in CPR/Basic First Aid is a plus. Excellent organizational and communication skills and sanitary habits are a must.
