Often confused by those who don't know her as a typical, normal
suburbanite, Sandy joins the CTSN staff with a long background
in teaching and education. Her passion has always been working
with kids and her favorite classroom is the outdoors. After
earning her BA in elementary education from the Ohio State
University in 1986 she spent 17 years teaching science to
middle school aged students. She also earned a masters degree
in Gifted and Talented Education from Ashland University in
Ohio and is also a certified, experienced middle school
Montessori teacher. Sandy is most proud of her official title
as "MOM." Her two children, ages 16 and 11, and her husband
have inspired her and even joined her on many outdoor
wilderness expeditions including Coyote Trails School of Nature
Family programs. In her free time, Sandy loves riding horses
and sitting quietly in the woods.
